René Magic
I do magic because I have always enjoyed entertaining the people around me - be it at school or at the family dinner table.
The two emotions, amazement combined with laughter that I generate in my audience are what drives me to continue what I love doing: Magic!
My Story:
I grew up bilingually in London and have been interested in magic for over 30 years. In my student years, I took regular mime classes, attended clown, improv, juggling, mask, physical theatre and magic workshops both in the UK and France.
At the age of 18, I was one of the Magic Circle’s youngest members. After graduation, I worked as a full-time English teacher at a (Japanese) kindergarten in Osaka. There I learned to work with children and much of this knowledge is now the basis of my magic shows for kids.
In 2016 I became Austrian Champion in Comedy-Magic and in 2017 German Champion in the same category. Since then, I have performed on Britain’s got Talent, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and at Hollywood’s famous “Magic Castle”.
I’m based in Munich, Germany and have three children of my own.
My Experiences
I would give more stars if they were available 😀 I was struggling for ideas for my son’s 17 th birthday party, so I googled for inspiration. Award Winning Magician René popped up in the search for entertainment. I needed entertainment for teens & young adults (my son’s group of friends). Renè responded to my reach out really quickly & was very kind to fit us into his busy schedule & timings! Being so accommodating & super friendly over email, he recommended a package that would suit us. Warm & welcoming on his entry, he quickly captivated the audience, quite a mixture of teens / young adults / older adults / even older grandparents / kids as young as 5. Everyone was bedazzled by Renè & his magic & comedy!! A truly wonderful time & money well spent. My 17 yr old son loved it & it was such a fun start to his party. René had us all in hysterical laughter & was absolutely lovely to include the little ones in his magic. He was the talk of the party afterwards.
A must-have for any occasion! My friends & I all look forward to seeing René again soon…. playing at the kids theatre in Munich. Thank you René 🙏
Rene really wowed the guests in our company’s evening hospitality suite two nights during a conference in Munich in August 2023. Many of our guests told us how amazing he was. And I agree! I will never figure out how he did what he did. I highly recommend Rene.
Rene's stage show was really great fun. He is not only striking as a witty, comical and skilful performer, but his sideways glance at English and German ways of life made for a unique mix of laughs and baffling tricks.
His close up magic at the bar afterwards was amazing too.
